“Release the Endorphins” is my latest abstract.

I was working on a very detailed double portrait last week – the levels of concentration were such that I firstly started to experience a pain in the back of my neck which spread to my lower back. Ouch. As soon as I finished the portraits, I started this non objective abstract, the total opposite to the photo realistic portrait I had been working on.

Wow!! It released the endorphins and the pain disappeared – hence the title !

 

The Dublin Art Book, launched today (2 Sept), features two of John’s works. The book is part of a series that celebrates cities through the works of their artists – previous cities that have featured include Cambridge, Oxford, Edinburgh and Liverpool. For more details click here
