On
the 24th of September, Dublin Culture
night, John presented "Crescendo"
an abstract painting to the Axis Arts
Centre and Community Resource Centre in
Ballymun. The painting is a 60"x48"
acrylic on canvas and was inspired by
music.
Niamh
Fitzpatrick, Assistant Project Manager,
accepted the painting on behalf of the
Axis. It is hanging in the mezzazine/
gallery area of the centre.
John
believes that in this era of severe cutbacks
which effects everyone including Art Centres,
that any support we can offer to these
centres in whatever form, is vital, as
they are an integral part of every community.

Jan
Chandler visits John Nolan's Dublin studio

John
Nolan had the pleasure of meeting the charming Jan Chandler in his Dublin studio
in January. On her recent whistle stop visit to Ireland, Scotland and England,
the Chicago based gallery owner, Jan Chandler, wanted to purchase more paintings
by John for her Heartland Gallery. Jan
has a passion for Irish culture, in fact anything to do with Ireland.... Irish
art, music, literature, theatre, history..... the list is endless, a true Hibernophile.
John is already looking forward to her next visit which hopefully will be in the
not too distant future. For
