Submission Group Exhibition 2004 At The Wicklow County Council Arts Office.
|  John
Nolan is one of the artists selected to exhibit in the County Buildings, Station
Road in Wicklow Town between 15th November and Friday 10th December 2004.
The show
will be opened by Cllr. John Byrne, Chairperson, Wicklow County Council. There
is also an unveiling of a donation to the County Municipal Collection by Friends
of the National Collection of Ireland - " The Good Shepherd" - Artist Evie Hone
(1894 - 1955). |
WINNER - 'Liquitex' artist of the month, September 2004

John has been awarded artist of the month from Liquitex,
the popular manufacturer of acrylic paint.
John
Nolan was born in Dublin Ireland in 1958. The celebration of color and form preoccupied
him from an early age and was nurtured through the encouragement and instruction
received from his artist father..

" A Bold Brush With Colour " - In The Sunny Southeast

solo Exhibition of John's new work in the newly opened Jones
Art Gallery, Harbour Mill, Davitts Quay, Dungarvan, Co. Waterford.
The exhibition will be officially opened by KEN WIGHAM, at 8.00pm on Monday the
9th of August 2004 and will continue until the end of August.
The
gallery is open Monday to Saturday 11.00am - 7pm. |
National Treasury Management Agency Selects John's Paintings
| The
NTMA annual report and accounts for the year ended 31st of December 2003 was launched
on the 21st of July 2004 at the Treasury Building, Grand Canal Street, Dublin
2. The Minister for Finance, Charlie McCreevey and Doctor Michael Somers , Chief
Executive of the NTMA, both attended the launch.
The
paintings reproduced in this report are the work of John Nolan, displaying a mixture
of his modern figurative and abstract work. This is John's third time to be chosen
as the featured artist in the report. |

in Clonmel
  John
Nolan is exhibiting his abstract work as one of the featured artists selected
by Aisling Kilroy of the Narrow Space Gallery - 14 Mitchel Street, Clonmel. Co.
Tipperary www.thenarrowspace.com Featuring
the work of a selection of Irish and International artists selected from www.artvitae.com
the show will be opened on Friday 18th June 2004 at 8.00pm by Mary Baxter, who
is the chairperson of the Waterford Healing Trust. "Unplugged" will run until
7th August 2004. This
show would not be possible without the art website www.artvitae.com,
which Michael and Geraldine Loyer have successfully developed, bringing together
140 artists from all over the world.

show moves to Art Effect, Spires Mall, Belfast, for two weeks.

and his nephew Stephen Nolan. Until June 2004 - open daily. For this show John Nolan and his nephew Stephen
Nolan, selected work from their studios. It is an interesting exploration of their
individual approaches to the creative process.There is no premeditated theme to
the exhibition. "Relative Views" refers to the uncle / nephew relationship, which
may or may not dictate the choice of work for the show. |

Nolan's painting " If You Listen - You Can Hear " (diptych - modern figurative
style ) represented Ireland at the Florence Biennale, 6th - 14th of December 2003.
He
was one the artists invited to represent Ireland at this international survey
of contemporary art, which took place at the Fortezza da Basso in Florence.The
artists were selected by the prestigious International Committee of the Florence
Biennale. The
theme John chose for the Biennale is communication , which attracted Young Euro
RSCG Advertising, who are based on Leeson street. The paintings will be hung in
the boardroom of their Leeson Street offices. Congratulations to Young Euro RSCG
for supporting Irish Art. |

Irish
Artists at the 'Florence Biennale' 
Since
its inaugural exhibition in 1997 when the work of 317 artists from 17 nations
was exhibited, the 'Florence Beinnale' has been acclaimed as a panoramic survey
of contemporary art. Participation
is by invitation only, and this year the prestigious International Commitee of
the 'Florence Biennale' has invited Irish artists John Nolan, Gregory Toal, Deborah
Donnelly, Roger Cummiskey, adn Tommy Barr to join more than 600 artists from 50
countries in Florence. The exhibition takes place at the Fortezza da Basso
